✨ Finley, he’s just the most awesome little man and brings so much joy to my life 💗💗💗 I also feel very thankful he’s now healthy and happy
✨ All my family and friends - I’m a very, very lucky woman to have so many good people in my life ✨ My work, my clients and customers, not a single day goes by when I don’t feel immense gratitude for being able to make a living doing something I love that in turn helps others
✨ My home, firstly grateful for the fact I have a safe and warm place to live, but also very grateful we were able to get this place after the faff we had getting out of our one bed flat ✨ Music - I was singing along to stuff on Spotify today and it just reminded me how much joy music brings to my life

Got some brand spanking new pics done thanks to the lovely @rjmphotographyportraits

Slowly getting used to seeing so much of my face - it can be very easy to start picking myself apart, and to be honest when I first saw the pics that’s what I did - I noticed the rolls, the double chin, the thighs, the too small eyes and too big nose
.
But then after a while I started noticing my smile and how my eyes sparkled and how clear my skin is and more of the things I actually like about my appearance
.
It reminded me not to hide away from having pictures taken, taking selfies or even having more shoots done because the more I see myself like this the more comfortable I feel, the more I really see myself and who I am - and that’s got to be a good thing ⭐️

  • Do you ever find yourself minimising how you feel?
.
Instead of just saying ‘I had an anxiety attack’ I found myself saying ‘I had a migraine’ or ‘a small anxiety attack’ or ‘a bit of an anxiety attack’. I found myself dismissing my own discomfort because a) not wanting to make a fuss and b) there’s so many people dealing with so much more than me so why should I be feeling like this?
.
This thinking is SO toxic, and I find a lot of women also have this pattern. The problem is, it’s a way of thinking that on the surface sounds useful but is absolutely not. Yes, sadly there will always be someone in a worse situation than you, but using that as a reason to invalidate your own feelings is not helpful.
.
To enable us to process, deal with and heal the more negative aspects of our lives and emotions through self care we must allow ourselves to validate how we feel!
.
Your experience is your experience and your feelings about it are valid no matter what - you can have compassion for others in worse situations and still have compassion for yourself 💗

  • This weekend has been an interesting mix of family time, Saturday night working, binge watching Ugly House to Lovely House on All 4, being a background model for @behappybebrightbeyou_x gorgeous retreat photographs (check out my stories!) all the while being on day 30 of my cycle and having a minor overwhelm freak out this morning.

I’ve just needed to take a step back this evening and this quote is a good reminder to me going into next week to find that balance between surrendering and pushing.

  • Got all glammed up for a photo shoot today! (Ignore my hair though this is post outside getting blown about in the wind!) 🌬

If anything is going to trigger off your body image issues it’s getting profesh photos taken, but this is probably the first time I haven’t had a meltdown about it - although come back to me when I actually see the pics! 😬
.
I’ve had 4 photoshoots for myself and a couple of others for magazines and things - check out my stories for my best tips on preparing for a photo shoot ✨
.
Ultimately, when I do get a body image wobble about photos I try and remind myself that it’s just a snap shot made in a second. Anyone can be made to look different depending on angles and lighting - and don’t get me started on digital alteration - so I try not to let my view of my worth get attached to something so changeable if that makes sense!
