Interested in becoming a Health Coach? You’re in the right place!

If you’re passionate about health and wellbeing and supporting others to becoming healthier and happier, health coaching could be the perfect profession for you.

There are various courses and training available, however the course I studied and the one I would recommend is the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

Learn from leading health and nutrition experts such as…

  • Walter Willett, MD: Chair of Nutrition, Harvard School of Public Health, Chair of the Department of Nutrition at Harvard’s School of Public Health as well as the author of Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating.
  • Andrew Weil, MD: Director of Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona A best-selling author whose books include: Spontaneous Healing and Eight Weeks to Optimal Health. Dr. Weil is a Harvard Medical School graduate and world-renowned expert on medicinal herbs, mind-body interactions and healing systems. He also started the Integrative Medicine program at the University of Arizona.
  • Deepak Chopra: World leader in the field of mind-body medicine: A holistic healer and author of more than 50 books translated into over 35 languages. Deepak is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and one of Time Magazine’s “Top 100 heroes and icons of the century” and “the poet-prophet of alternative medicine.”

I studied with IIN in 2012 and have never looked back! I now run my own business working from home supporting women around their overall well being and none of this would have been possible without IIN. I make more income working 4 days a week now than I did working full time as a senior project manager. Creating your own health coaching practice is totally doable if you’re passionate about wellbeing!

This online course is delivered over one year via an online learning platform, coaching calls and short tests and practical exercises.

Change isn't linear, it's cyclical - has become a bit of a mantra for me recently, it's really helped me understand how change actually happens in our lives, it's rarely a straight line. .
Alongside this, having an understanding and appreciation for the cycles in our lives as women can help so much of our experience in a female body make more sense - whether it's our menstrual cycle, the moon cycle and our life phases, it can help us find balance when we understand where we are in our own cyclical nature ⚡️

It might be a bit of a wellness buzzword right now but for good reason - when we aren't getting our own needs met, showing up for others as our full selves is so much harder, and right now with the world the way it is, we need to be able to show up as our full selves 💫
.
As much as the image above is a form of self care it is not by any means what true self care is - yes it definitely includes pampering but to think of the full breadth of self care I like to use my 6 self care themes which are nourishment, movement, pampering, relaxation, organisation and growth ✨
.
Self care can be getting your needs met, filling your cup and doing what you need to feel good and experience joy, but in my experience the Self Care that really packs a punch doesn't always feel good when you're doing it - think removing yourself from toxic friendships, having awkward conversations about boundaries or getting a smear test done - all necessary but not always fun! 😫
