Natural Beauty: New Products, Brands and Reviews

Neom

Over the last few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of trying lots of new natural beauty products and thought it would be nice to share my thoughts on them with you. Some of these have been received as samples from the brands, where as others have been purchased myself. Gifted products will be marked below with a *. I’m enjoying trying more new natural beauty products, although I still swear by my super simple basic skin care routine and still use olive oil as a cleanser and apple cider vinegar toner, I am having fun experimenting with new things and as I age I feel I need a little added TLC!

Neom Complete Bliss Scented Candle

Neom2

I am just in love with all things Neom! They have recently re branded with beautiful new packaging and products and I was kindly sent the Complete Bliss 3 wick candle* to try out. This candle smells simply amazing from it’s blend of 16 essential oils and has a great candle life. It’s £45, which is expensive, however it is well worth it for the outstanding quality, fragrance and burn time. All Neom products are completely natural and organic and as well as candles they also sell a range of bath time, body care and other home fragrance products. Take a look at their site and follow them on Twitter and Facebook

Oqibo

Oqibo

I was contacted by Oqibo to see if I would like to try some of their products. When I told them I was pregnant they put together a beautiful pregnancy gift for me! I received the Hydra Restore Cream* and Fig Leaf Candle* along with some samples and a pretty box of candle matches. I have to say I am in love with this stuff! The cream is absolutely wonderful and while it’s been warmer I’ve been using it as a night cream. It absorbs really well and leaves my skin feeling nicely nourished yet fresh. The fig leaf candle is on my desk burning away as I type. It has a great burn time and when I’m working from home I’ll often have it on all day long and I’ve had it for a few weeks so that really says something! The Hydra cream is £33.15 which is a bit steep, but a price I would probably pay again for such a great product. The candle is £22 and again, I would be more than happy to pay that for such a fab product. As well as skin care and candles Oqibo offer a range of supplements. Take a peek at their website and give them a follow on Twitter and Facebook for more info.

Herbfarmacy

Herbafarmacy

I came across this brand via Rosie and after her description of the Mallow Beauty Balm I decided I had to treat myself. I also purchased the Just eyes as I was in need of an eye cream as well. The Mallow Beauty Balm is a thick balm with an amazing scent. I like to use this for some rich nourishment before bed on some days and always after I’ve used my home made clay mask. The eye cream is nice and light and feels great on my skin, I’ve been using it daily and while I it’s not an anti wrinkle or ageing cream, it has improved skin tone. Herbfarmacy products are made using organic herbs grown in the UK. Some of their products like the Mallow Beauty Balm are 100% organic. The Mallow Beauty Balm is £14.50 and the Just Eyes is £16.60, both excellent value for the quality and effectiveness of the product. I’d definitely like to try out some other products from their range. Have a look at their website and check them out on Twitter and Facebook.

Inika Mineral Setting Powder

Inkia setting powder

I was hooked up with this brand by Ria from NatuRia Beauty when I asked for recommendations for a natural powder. I had been looking for a pressed powder, but decided to try a loose powder for something a bit different. I do use foundation, and as I don’t have have oily skin I don’t need a really heavy powder so I thought this would be a good product. I really like this, it is light and as it’s a finishing powder it doesn’t add any coverage just a light dusting to take away any shine. I bought the Ecotools bamboo powder brush to use with it. I purchased my Inika powder via Amazon for £17.00 but you can also check out the Inika website and follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

Dermaoil

Derma oil

As you can see from that bottle this has certainly been getting some use! I was sent this Dermaoil* from Chemist Direct which is made up of a lot of natural oils to help reduce scarring and stretch marks. I haven’t used it as directed, which is 2-3 times a day in late pregnancy, but I have used it every other day. As I said last week I have noticed some stretch marks making an appearance, but they are very small and considering I am pretty prone to stretch marks I’m taking that as a win! The oil absorbs well and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. The Dermaoil is current reduced to £15.00 and again, is something I would buy again for that price. Take a look at Chemist Direct for other products.

Latest In Beauty Hip and Healthy Box

Latest in beauty hip and healthy box

I blogged about this when I got it a few weeks ago but I wanted to do a fuller review and share a discount code for free delivery! The Latest In Beauty Box* is a collaboration with Hip and Healthy, one of my favourite sites (stay tuned for an interview with my friend the lovely editor of Hip and Healthy, Sadie coming soon!). The summer glow box is packed with great products and really does give you exceptional value. You can see the full list of contents on the Latest in Beauty site. I’ve used a few of the products and tried the gorgeous nail varnish over the weekend for my birthday, it’s still chip free after 5 days which I think is pretty good! The Burt Bees lip balm has gone in my labour bag and the supplements have gone into my post birth pamper pack. The Melvita rose water is another fave, such a gentle toner. I also loved the ohso probiotic chocolate which I had first tried back last year at the Vitality show. The £20 voucher for Salt Resort wear won’t get used as their stuff is pricey even for me, but other than that everything is just fabulous!

As I said I’m super chuffed to be able to offer you readers an exclusive discount of free P&P!

WHHLIB14

The offer runs until the boxes run out, so snap them up quick! If you are looking to treat yourself, you really can’t do much better than this! The box is just £16.95 and with that exclusive code you can now get the postage and packing free.

  • I love scented candles. That nail varnish is a pretty colour too. I love Essie colours- they are so bright- I use the Sally Hansen top coat and they generally last a good week before they chip which is amazing especially when I am at work!

I really want to try that mineral powder! I don’t wear face make up but want some light for days when I am a bit shiny or have big bags! That balm from Herbfarmacy looks fab too – I love that it is 100% organic too. That is hard to find without it costing a small fortune!

  • I must say I am terrible with beauty products. I literally just use water on my face and I might if I have some lying about (usually hotel samples) moisturise after shaving my legs. I am terrible! I have alright skin I think and just can’t be bothered with making my morning or evening routine longer…not that it’s very long! Usually just my hair that takes an age to do in the morning.
I used to use Nivea moisturiser all the time or my mum would give me her Lancome off casts (she’s a big one for buying something then never using it…) – I should do more as I’m sure I’ll look back when I’m older and regret my sparse routine!!
