I always save up some cash for our trips to Brighton so I can go a bit crazy in the shops down there. They have some great little independent boutiques in the North Laines, as well as the health food shops and the usual bigger high street stores. I set myself a budget which I (almost) stuck to, and I’m chuffed to bits with the goodies I found! First up is some nice stationary and crafty things pictured above, including decorative paper from Tiger and to do lists, shopping list pad, thank you cards, paper clips and magnets and some fun postcards all from Paperchase.
Next up I got some stuff for the kitchen including patterned dish cloths, a scrubbing brush, patterned paper straws and a microplane grater all from Tiger. I also found a gorgeous yellow hook from Sass and Belle that I plan to put in the bathroom to add some colour, and some wonderful glass kilner smoothie jars from Bert’s.
I needed to stock up on some skin and hair care including my favourite Green People Day Solution. I saw the Avalon Organics shampoo and condition on special offer so thought I’d try those, as well as the Green People toothpaste. I also grabbed a raw cherry lip balm, all of those being from Infinity Foods. In addition I needed more hair elastics which I seem to go through very quickly! I always get mine from Boots.
Some other little treats included a floral hair band and gold necklace from H&M, a gold paper plane ring from Rose Hill Boutique and a pretty bracelet with star charm and lime leaf and ginger scented candle from Lavender Room.
I found this big weekender bag in Ollie and Nic half price. I thought it would be perfect as my labour bag for when the baby comes, as well as being useful for any future trips away as I’ve been after a decent weekend bag for a while.
I can’t possibly go to Brighton and not come back without chocolate! I picked up a couple of bars of my favourite raw chocolate including iQ, The Raw Chocolate Company and Ombar. I also liked the sound of the extra dark mint Seed and Bean and the Sea Salt and Caramel Chocolate (all of those from Infinity Foods). I love Montezuma’s chocolate too, so picked up a selection pack of mini bars.
Naturally I got a few health foodie essentials too! Some vanilla chai and vanilla white teas, coconut oil, rye bread with amaranth and quinoa, rice syrup, Love Raw bars, Zest pesto and a big kabocha squash! The squash might not be so seasonal right now but I couldn’t resist.
I didn’t get that many clothes by my standards, just a couple of things to wear during the rest of the pregnancy including a beautiful floaty floral vest top from H&M and a big vest top for the gym from TK Maxx.
From Primark I got a cropped denim jacket and a striped maxi dress, both in a bigger size.
Not pictured is a few bigger bits and pieces for the kitchen including a new drainer and a rain jacket and boots I had to pick up so I could deal with the rain as I was pretty unprepared for the wet weather!
Do you like to save up and splash out or get bits and bobs every now and again? Do you like shopping on holiday?
